gone fishing
Well I spent the New Year being sick: fevers, nasty cough, the whole nine yards. Now that that's done I am off to the West Coast for a week or two of weddings, funerals, etc. (yes I am in fact attending both). So things will continue to be quiet around here. I have packed the new Lois McMaster Bujold book for the long flights cross country. Any other suggestions? I'd really like some good SF as well.
When I get back, I start in (hopefully) on my New Year's Resolution: the writing of a novel!

If you haven't read the Honor Harrington series by David Weber, you might want to start on that. I think he is up to book 9.
I just read a YA novel called "Such a Pretty Girl" which is a great read about a really tough subject - child abuse. It's not normally something I would have read, but it intrigued me when I read a couple of pages, and it was so well written and dealt so well with the topic, I would actually recommend it.
PS, I'm sorry about the funeral. Condolences just aren't adequate, but you have my sympathies.
Thanks! I may checkout that YA book... definitely gonna be looking for some new reading material before all is said and done here.
